From his early days in sponsorship sales through to building one of the US financial advisory sector’s most prominent annual events at Informa, Dan has spent his career doing the thing he says he does best: helping companies connect with the right audiences and make it count. It’s a simple idea, but he talks about it in a way that makes you understand exactly why it matters.
He also has a lot of time for the next generation. Whether it’s mentoring young salespeople, helping a friend’s daughter into the industry, or just sharing what patience and perseverance have taught him over decades, that generosity comes through in every part of the conversation.
His onsite philosophy is probably the most quotable thing in the episode. You’re throwing a party for 2,000 people. Something will happen. Be flexible, smile, have fun, and remember you cannot call timeout.
