My Career Story with Seynabou Cisse, Senior Event Marketing Manager at Dell Technologies and Denise van den Outenaar, Manager Business Development at RAI Amsterdam

In this episode, we’re joined by Seynabou Cisse, Senior Event Marketing Manager at Dell Technologies, and Denise van den Outenaar, Manager Business Development at Rai Amsterdam.

Seynabou’s world is incentive travel, designing and delivering global experiences that celebrate the people who drive a business forward. Almost anyone can go to Hawaii, she says. But going to Hawaii on an incentive trip is something else entirely. That’s the difference she gets to create, and it clearly means everything to her.

She talks about what keeps her motivated after years in the industry: the events from three or four years ago that people still talk about today. Those memories, those moments that wouldn’t exist without the work her team puts in, are what she’s really building.

Her advice for those starting out is practical and hard-earned. Get as much hands-on experience as you can, as early as you can. Stay curious. Build your network because this industry is smaller than it looks, and people genuinely help each other. And above all, work on your resilience, because whether it’s a volcano erupting in Bali or protests outside your venue, something will always test you. The people who thrive are the ones who keep a calm head and go straight to the solution.

A really warm and grounded conversation with someone who loves every part of what she does.
