My Career Story with Hayley Good, Marketing Manager at Accenture Ireland and Sharon Dana, Manager Corporate UK at Vienna Convention Bureau

In this episode, we’re joined by Hayley Good, Marketing Manager at Accenture Ireland, and Sharon Dana, Manager Corporate UK at the Vienna Convention Bureau.

Hayley didn’t set out to work in events. She studied communications with a focus on PR and journalism, and what followed was a career that evolved organically, moving through recruitment marketing and into the broad world of events and corporate marketing at one of the world’s largest professional services companies.

She talks about what keeps her coming back: the variety, the buzz, and the ability to actually see the impact of your work in the room. Whether it’s a small intimate client dinner or a major conference sponsorship, that moment when an audience absorbs an experience you helped build is hard to replicate anywhere else.

But the thing Hayley speaks about with the most warmth is community. The sense that everyone in this industry, regardless of country, company size or specialism, is going through the same thing. And that shared experience is genuinely connecting.

Her parting advice is simple and quietly powerful: go into this industry with kindness. Because it’s a small world, relationships matter more than most people realise, and you never know when you’ll need a favour.

A really warm and honest conversation.
