In this episode, we’re joined by Yasmin Koval, Senior Director, Strategic & Marketing Events UKI at Salesforce, and Natalie Fulton, Trade Manager, Business Events Americas at Tourism New Zealand.
Yasmin has been doing events for over 20 years and talks about them like she’s just getting started. That enthusiasm is infectious, and this conversation is full of it.
She talks about what keeps her motivated: that unique alchemy of bringing together people with different skills and viewpoints around a single idea, and watching it grow into something that genuinely delights the people who walk through the door. It starts with a piece of paper, she says. And then it becomes something wonderful.
There’s also a really practical thread about AI and how Yasmin is already using it to work smarter every day, delegating the repetitive tasks so she can focus on the complex ones. Her advice for those starting out is refreshingly simple: go and try something. Volunteer anywhere. Get a summer job. Events is a people business and the best way to know if it’s for you is to get in the room.
A warm, energising listen from someone who has found her groove in this industry and is still going strong.
